Salary: CNY ¥ 300,000-500,000/year
Application Deadline: Open Until Filled
The Nanophotonics Manufacturing,
Manipulation, and Measurement Research Group (NPM3) at the
Department of Precision Instrument, Tsinghua University, China (http://faculty.dpi.tsinghua.edu.cn/home_en/hbsun),
led by Prof. Hong-Bo Sun (http://faculty.dpi.tsinghua.edu.cn/en_hbsun.html), is
seeking postdoctoral scholars in nanophotonics. Postdoctoral scholars will work
on grant-funded research projects in nanophotonics that draw on one of three
areas:
(1) Nano-fabrication: towards 3D optical
chips and AI photonics, develop novel micro- and nano-fabrication methods,
techniques, and instrumentation with ultrafast laser interaction, including
additive manufacturing, subtractive manufacturing, composite manufacturing, etc.;
(2) Nano-manipulation: carry out research
on optical precision manipulation methods in micro- and nanoscale, such as
optomechanical and optical microfluidics, optical self-assembly, and nanorobots
based on nanophotonics;
(3) Nano-measurement: to meet the
characterization demands of novel nanomaterials such as low-dimensional
materials, color-centers, and other quantum materials, develop novel theories,
methods, techniques, and instrumentation on super-resolution and multi-physics
measurement, including near-field optics, ultrafast spectral optics, etc.
About NPM3
The NPM3 group, led by Prof. Hong-Bo Sun, focuses on the
fundamental research and application of ultrafast laser for ultra-precision
manufacturing, manipulation, and measurement. By studying and employing the
interaction between ultrafast laser and materials at nanoscale, our team aim to
fabricate novel functional nanodevices such as 3D optical chips for
micro-optics, microelectronics, micromechanics, microfluidics, optoelectronics,
sensing, biology, biomimetic and so on. By utilizing multi-physics coupling in
nanomaterials such as light-thermal coupling, we realize manipulation and
assembly of nanomaterials such as nanoparticles and quantum dots. Moreover, we
are developing foremost methods in near-field probe scanning microscopy and
ultrafast spectroscopy for the characterization and nanodefect detection of
low-dimensional materials and sub-10nm chips.
Prof. Hong-Bo Sun received his B.S. and
Ph.D. degrees in electronics from Jilin
University, China,
in 1992 and 1996, respectively. He worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the
University of Tokushima, Japan, from 1996 to 2000, and then as an assistant
professor in the Department of Applied Physics, Osaka University,
from 2000 to 2006. In 2004, he was promoted as a full professor at Jilin University,
and since 2017 he has been working in Tsinghua
University, China.
His research interests are ultrafast and nano-photonics. So far, he has
published over 650 scientific papers, which have been cited more than 32000
times in the Web of Science database( H-index 90) and more than 40000 times in
the Google Scholar( H-index 102). He is the editor-in-chief of PhotoniX,
executive editor-in-chief of Light: Science and Applications (Nature Publishing
Group), and editor of Optics Letters. He has served on dozens of editorial
boards. He is a fellow of IEEE, OSA, SPIE, COS and COSE.
The faculty members of the group also
include Prof. Benfeng Bai
(http://faculty.dpi.tsinghua.edu.cn/en_baibenfeng.html), Associate Prof. Linhan
Lin (http://faculty.dpi.tsinghua.edu.cn/en_linlh2019.html), and Associate Prof.
Honghua Fang (http://faculty.dpi.tsinghua.edu.cn/en_hfang.html).
